Creatine Supplementation Improves Muscular Performance without Additional Impact on the Cardiovascular System in Trained Women

چکیده
Creatine monohydrate supplementation in females is largely under-represented the literature, and their potentially differential hemodynamic responses are unknown. Methods: Twenty-eight resistance-trained women (25.5 ± 6.1 years, 59.7 6.3 kg, 163 5 cm) were randomly assigned to supplement creatine (CRE; g + dextrose) or placebo (PLA; 10 four times per day for 7 days a double-blind fashion. Each subject subsequently completed resistance training sessions (3 × week) weeks with sets muscular failure of both half-squat leg press exercises. The change body mass (BM), exercise repetition number (REP), rated perceived exertion (RPE), cardiovascular variables assessed (sessions 1, 6, 12). Statistical analyses performed at significance level p ≤ 0.05. Results: Analyses revealed significant CRE-specific BM increase (p = 0.013), as well significantly greater 0.006) 0.017) REP set versus PLA. Additionally, CRE demonstrated lower relative RPE values session 12 compared previous sessions. Any main interaction effects observed studied variable. Conclusions: present data substantiate creatine’s efficacy improve performance while demonstrating safety combined on parameters.

Acute antioxidant supplementation improves endurance performance in trained athletes.
This study examined the acute effects of a single dose of an antioxidant (AO; Lactaway® containing pycnogenol) on time to fatigue (TTF). Nine trained cyclists [mean ± SD age 35 ± 10 yrs; body mass 71.6 ± 10.2 kg; VO2 peak 63 ± 11 ml/kg/min] performed on two separate occasions a continuous protocol of 5 min at 50% of peak power output (PPO), 8 min at 70% of PPO, and then cycled to fatigue at 95%...
متن کاملDietary nitrate supplementation improves rowing performance in well-trained rowers.
Increased plasma nitrate concentrations from dietary sources of nitrate have proven to benefit exercise performance. Beetroot (BR) contains relatively high levels of nitrate (NO₃⁻), which increases nitric oxide stores. This study investigated whether dietary nitrate supplementation, in the form of a BR beverage, would improve rowing performance during ergometer repetitions. In a randomized cros...
متن کاملShort-term creatine supplementation has no impact on upper-body anaerobic power in trained wrestlers.
BACKGROUND Creatine (CR) is considered an effective nutritional supplement having ergogenic effects, which appears more pronounced in upper-body compared to lower-body exercise. Nevertheless, results regarding the impact of CR loading on repeated high-intensity arm-cranking exercise are scarce and in some cases conflicting. Interestingly, few of the conducted studies have structured their resea...
